Multiple sites on one account

Hi

I have a 3 website and currently have them all on one hosting account.

This saves me money but I'm wondering if there are any downsides to this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Not really, that I know of... The only thing I can recommend is to not haves links to and from each of the sites as they are on the same IP address (site A having links to site B etc...) It may have a negative effect on SEO. Other then that I can't think of any issues.

I believe that there are no downsides there. Aren't you comfortable with that?

I can think of several downsides to having them on separate accounts.

I suppose that you should take that easy. Do search for the multiple domain shared web hosting.

Actually yes. But if they are extra important web sites for you - you'd better take care of another web hosting account to host them on.

Be careful not to interlink those three sites too much. This may be deemed by Google as manipulation on PR and SERPs.

This is fine. That you you can keep up with all of your accounts in one central location. If you need to upgrade mysql, you just upgrade one server, same goes for apache and the operating system.

Plan the linking structure so its not a 2 way link. Make it so its like a chain:

Site 1 links to site 2 and 3.
Site 2 links to site 3 and 4.
Site 3 links to site 4 and 5.
Site 5 links to sites 1 and 2.

I call it my "little circle of sites".

I have 9 sites on my server - 4 forums and 5 wordpress sites. I also try not to do too much 2 way linking, but it happens.

Even this can be identied by google. I would recommed removing the last step, so that it remains perfectly one way links.

If you have different class C IP for each one of the site above, with last step not applied, you are going to be benefited. Thats why I wont recommend hosting multiple sites under one account, unless each site gets its own unique class C IP address(some SEO friendly hosts provide that).

All the host are allowing multiple sites now and medium site not using even 10% of the offer. so there is not problem on like that hosting.. but wants to link each other ... the value of its is very less...

The only downside to having them all on one hosting account that I can think of is that you can't create inbound links for the reasons stated above. However, unless they have a high PR, I think the benefits of having them all on one account outweighs any benefits from creating links.
