Which is best hosting service for file-sharing websites?

Hi all!

I'm new to this forum. I like to start a website that registered users can upload and download files. As I know, many hosting providers does not allow my requirements. And a few allow some/most of them.

I need all your help. Please guide me the right hosting service. or give me any links that could help me.

My requirements:

• At least 100 GB web space
• 1TB (or at least 1000 GB) monthly bandwidth
• Fastest and Reliable Servers
• PHP 5 or 4
• MySQL 5 or 4
• Apache/freeBSD/UNIX
• Fantastico Package
• Shell Access
• At least 10 FTP Accounts. (controllable user accounts via control panel)
• 5 Email IDs with webmail, POP3, SMTP
• Spam filter - optional
• At least 99% Uptime (Guaranteed)
• Allowing any file types (including mp3, mpg, avi, swf, exe, zip, pdf, doc, exl, .....)
• offshore hosting (means the server is in a country where there are few/no laws regulating online activity, porn, warez, etc...) I will not allow porn, warez, cracks. If I find such a file is in my website, I must remove it as soon as possible. But, in the meantime, my hosting service should allow it. My hosting account should not removed/suspend for my user's file.
• Cheap/lowest price
• Allowing Torrent files is optional. not necessary.
• All other common requirements.

I would recommend a offshore host as they tend to be more friendly with content like yours. We have hosted with a Panama offshore hosting company called highsecured.com for Just over a year. We have users like you and kept getting taken down in the United States for copyright issues. We would remove the content after we verified but it was too slow for the U.S. Hosting. Our move to High Secured has been a blessing as they are not bound by the U.S. Laws or have to abide by DMCA letter notifications. Now we can verify the content before we take it down or if there is a question we can choose to leave the content. They are not the cheapest host but I believe you get what you pay for and especially in the offshore market we tired another host called hostingpanama.com and we VERY unhappy as support sucked there was downtime and we could not get a refund as they took us down for our material as they are owned by a U.K. company. We made the switch to High Secured and the sales people were perfect English speaking, support has been amazing and no downtime. If you cannot afford High Secured just jump around with cheaper hosting until you can afford Highsecured.com

Do not waste time with web hosting. Start your efforts at least with VPS servers or dedicated servers.

Chek on BLuehost or godaddy.. but i recomend u to go for dedicated or VPS. Regarding multiple FTP accounts and security m doubted in shared...

I suppose that in case with the such content the start should take place on the dedicated server. But also you can find specially designed for that web hosting services.

i would suggest you to go with Ecatel.net dedicated server, they are awesome, once or twice downtime in a month. And they do allow all type of contents, except child porn, spamming and phishing. Rest anything you can host with them. You can get 500GB space and more than 1TB Bandwidth, but i think this will cost you approx 500$ for one month, they are expensive, but very reliable.

Ecatel's website is under maintanance, but they will reply you through email, if you contact them through contact us.

I am sure, if you email them, they will help you to get dedicated server according to your budget.

I have contacted ecatel. but they said "dedicated only". OK. is it difficult to run a dedicated server? any big different with hosting vs dedicated servers?

I have currently run 5 websites. but only one is managed dedicated.
