Signed up with Westhost just now and already haveing second thoughts, feedback needed

I had a problem with Westhost even before I fully signed up!
There sign up form sucs for one. Seems to me that would be the first page they would want to get right.
Chatting with support to find out if I was billed twice was not to say a pleasant experience, very blunt. Didn't even seem like he cared if I signed up or not.
Then once I got signed up, with no help from support, I get the message that "your account will be set up within 24 hours". What! Even with cheap crappy hosts, a person can get to there members area, control panel. My presant host Cedant had me up with an ip instantly.
Now I'm questioning my desision of choosing Westhost. At least they claim to have a 30 gurantee. Debateing about trying that guarantee already.
Am I over reacting, or is this typical? I have only had the one host, Cedant(now Aplus) and find only very bad comments about Aplus. Not that I've had a big problem.

Hi I think you're right to have second thoughts, from what happened to you it seems like they have not put alot of work into the signup process.
However, you've gone through the trouble of signing up, I would take a week or two and see how it goes. Alot of times, excellent services are a pain in the butt to sign up for. I would try contacting support a few times, to see how good they are - you may have just gotten a bad person.

Also... keep in mind how much you are paying for the hosting (I assume it's very little). Don't expect too much if you're only paying a couple of dollars a month for hosting. The sad truth is they may not really care if you sign up or not. If you really need rock solid service and support, then get a dedicated server from someone like rackspace.

I don't blame you for wanting the most out of a hosting experience, but I don't know all the details about your first experiences with WestHost. Usually order forms are not the most fun to fill out, and I thought 24 hours was actually kinda quick to get things started. Immediate customer support is hard to come by where you can get a hold of somebody so quickly. From what it sounds like, you got a hold of someone right away and got things taken care of...but like you said, they didn't seem too thrilled to talk with you. Maybe it was because it was through chat. It's difficult for me to always guess what the person is really thinking through instant messaging because it's very informal...I dunno, these are just some thoughts. I agree with the other posts; if there is a 30 day trial, then I would take advantage of that and see where it goes. Good Luck.

Try looking at 10topwebs.com they say they have a list of customer ranked hosting sites and if you need your site moved and don't know how try ezsitemove.com.

Just give them a little more time to sort things out and do their best to satisfy your needs. Convey your expectations to them right away and wait to see their response.

IF they still don't work towards meeting your expectations you can always use their money back Guaranteee and switch over to a new Host :-)
