Free web design?
I sometimes hear of these hosts that will design sites for free in exchange for you hosting with them. I have a hosting client who needs a website, and I'd love to get rid of her...

It was this lady who signed up for hosting, then called me complaining that her site didn't work. I checked into it and she hadn't registered her domain. So after she registered her domain she calls me back saying it still doesn't work. I tell her to wait a couple days for it to propagate.
Next she calls me up saying she ftp-ed files to her account and they aren't there. I ftp into her account and she's uploaded nothing. So I try to walk her through the process, only to discover she doesn't have an ftp client. (She was using a proprietary software that only works with her old host).
So she emails me the files and I ftp them to her site, but there are no images, and she's refusing to understand that if you don't upload the image files, they won't be there. She keeps blaming it on V7, saying "the images are in the web page, and I uploaded the web page..."
Anyway, she wanted a sitebuilder software, and Joey over at realwebhost has one so I sent her over there.
Oddly enough, she claims she's a web designer.......

I had someone similar on the phone today...hardly knew what a computer was.
Maybe there should be some kind of IQ test on order forms to avoid the stupid customers.
"We're Sorry. Our order system has determined that you are too thick to buy our software. Good luck in your search for something else...you're going to need it."
