Dedicated Host

Hi,
A mate of mine needs a dedicated server host but he has got some low budget i think around $60 - $75 Per month. so do any of you know a host like that?
Also i think he wonts the server to come with a Control Panel.

thats pretty cheap, don't expect alot of support and specials with that but a few that might be able to meet that price are:

theres others but for less then $80/month tell your friend to go with colocation instead of dedicated.

also, why does he need a dedicated server, VPS (virtual private server) serves most uses and can be found at that price or cheaper.

If you go to www.1and1.com and click on the server tab you will find what you are looking for. I host a dedicated Windows server with them and have been very satisfied with their service. I use them as a primary source and use Interland hosting as a backup provider in case my site/email is down at 1and1.

This has not happened yet in the last year. My server was setup within 24 hours of the time I placed my order and they have been very responsive with questions I have had when I was first setting up the server.

i'm really doubting that if anyone is looking for a server under $75/month they are looking for a dual xeon :p

About the only thing in that price range will be an unmanaged celeron server. Hope your mate has skills to manage the server.

I agree about the skills. If you don't know how to manage the server you are toast.

You can actually get a dedicated intel P4 3GIG dual processor dedicated server starting at $49 a month lunix based and windows 2000 starting at $69 a month at 1and1.com. I don't work for them or an affiliate but I've been pleased with their service so far. I was actually very surprised with their offers and a little skeptical and nervous but I was proven wrong after a year of service with them.

oh and the cheapest at ThePlanet is $250 and i think thats a bit over his budget.

Expensive does not always equal quality.

My 1and1 dedicated server that costs $69/month has had no issues over a year time. I was really impressed the way they setup their servers. The only pain was that everything installed was locked down so I had to manually configure many of the settings so if you don't know what you are doing the box won't be wide open. It also came with SQL Server and Windows 2003 Server which I was really happy with. It comes with 500 Gig of http traffic and only $0.99 for each additiona gig. My billing statements show each day of traffic which is a plus because I can see what days was more expensive. The only reason I don't drop my Interland account which costs me $59/month for much less is because I need a primary and backup server for my clients. I also don't have to worry if 1 box goes down because the secondary server kicks in so there is no downtime.

I'll be honest I was personally a non believer because I had never heard of them but I was proved wrong by my staff and some contracters.

LOL. I don't think you are going to find anyone offering a dedicated server without a service fee. You may be able to find a shared environment without a service fee but not dedicated.

Just for the record I don't work or affiliated with them. So it really makes no difference which hosting provider you use. Good luck.

ok kool, he will most prob just search the net and find something and if he dont find anything he will have to save his pennies and pay the setup fee for 1and1.com.
