help with add on domain - Hostmonster, Cpanel

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to this and basically learning things on the fly.

I just added an add on domain to my main domain in my hosting account (Hostmonster) and don't know how to access the add on domain through my cpanel.

I'd like to upload Wordpress to the add on domain but when I login to my cpanel, only the main domain shows up.

Can anyone explain how to do this?

Thanks

If you allowed cPanel to fully create the addon domain there should be a directory with the same name in your public_html directory. Example: addondomain.com

A lot of new users confuse parking, subdomains and addon domains so you may not have actually set up a second domain properly.

Also sometimes the addon will fail if you do not have the nameservers pointed to the hosting account before you try to create the addon. Most hosts turn this off but some don't.

The recent versions of cPanel do allow addon domain folders to be located outside the public_html folder, so we can't be 100% sure of its location.

Valid point, didn't think of that.

Cpanel - Addon domains - Create an Add-on Domain - put domain - confirm or edit domain name file folder - set password - click Add domain

You have to wait up to 72 hours for dns chnages.

Upload your files to selected forlder. Run installation if you use CMS.

best way is to click addon domains in cpanel and look for the location of folder of addon domain name. then using ftp upload file to that directory and run the installation by going to the http://addon-domain.com and proceed as instructed in setup file.

Don't you think that problem was solved? Check the date of the first post. I'm not sure but I think that thread has already found the solution for the problem
