Help with understanding complete backup of website

Hiyas,

I need help with understanding the complete backup of a website. I want to make sure I do everything correctly so as to make sure it all runs smoothly. I am in the process of changing hosts - my site consists of web page files and a phpbb forum. I was using Cpanel for the old host, and will be using this interface again for the changeover. I have gone through the process of backing up the phpbb database in the admin interface of the forum (I have backed up the forum before so this isn't my main concern) I have also made a complete data backup of the site in Cpanel.

Is that all that is required? Is it just a matter of now restoring the backup and sql database on the new host? One of my concerns was backing up the emails. I am using the webmail feature in cpanel to store emails. Does the complete data backup include backing up the emails?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ask your new host to move the site over for you. WHM has a nice feature called "account transfer" which a host can use to move one account or if there upgrading servers a whole server. This will move all your files/databases/email over.

Well, transfer program is only allowed with root access. So You would have to ask your host if they wouldnt mind moving over every one of the account. Unless you have root access to old server, but I highly doubt you have that. Depending on the customer server the new host gives they may or may not do this. IT is kind of time comsuming.
