Canadian Web Hosting with Servers Actually in Canada
If you have studied SEO at all, the physical location of your web server can have an effect your results when website visitors are looking for information from a specific area. e.g. A Canadian wants to buy from a store within Canada to avoid customs charges and pay less in shipping so they search Google.ca or Yahoo!.ca.
Looking for web hosting companies that have their web servers located in Canada.
Criteria:
1. The web hosting packages must have a Canadian IP address.
2. Prices in Canadian dollars.
3. Clear detailed list of features included.
4. Does not require that the domain name be registered with the company.
5. The website owner remains in full control of their webspace.
6. The website owner does not have to use push button installs for things like shopping catalogues, Wordpress (or the blogging software of their choice), etc. They can install their own.
7. 24/7 support via phone, chat and email.
Please specify if the firm is geared to cater to high end consumers.
No Affliate links!
If you are a happy customer and know for sure your website IP address is Canadian, then you can recommend a web hosting company.

What do you define as "high end"? To me, "high end" means volume in the manner of at least a rack or two, UPS'es, multiple uplinks and the like.
Gotta admit I want to argue with you on your first sentence but this isn't the subforum for that.

High end: A site requiring lots of computing power due to the technology they have chosen to use. e.g. a large site with lots of processing of data before presenting to the browser.

Hostpapa has pretty good server performance (talking about shared hosting here), but uptime isn't good: http://www.pingdom.com/reports/xdibi...name=Hostpapa1

Actually, I was willing to forget that and consider it a "back luck" thing, but the other months of less than what could and should be uptime levels served as confirmation that August was just worst than usual.

All hosts have bad luck. It's a mark of strength as to how they handle and resolve it.

Are Nettelligent's prices in Cnd or US $?
What's their uptime record like?
What guarantee do I have I will be on a server located in Canada? (the point of this inquiry ) They say they have servers in NY.

Based out of Montreal Quebec, we currently occupy space within 5 datacenters in Montreal as well as 151 Front Street in Toronto and 111 8th Ave. in New York.

Price seems kind of cheap. Does that reflect the service you get?

Off the top of my head, I know of several companies, but don't have personal experience with all of them. And to be honest, I haven't investigated to find out where their servers are physically located.
ISPs offer hosting and domain name registration services:
------------------------------------------------------
Telus, Shaw, Rogers, Bell, etc.
Around Vancouver, BC:
----------------------
Canadian Web Hosting
http://www.canadianwebhosting.com/
Webserve Canada
http://www.webserve.ca/
Canada Web Hosting
http://www.canadawebhosting.com/
(This is a big one. They even lease rack space if you have your own server you want to keep in their facilities.)
eHosting
http://www.ehosting.ca/
Around Kelowna, BC:
-------------------
http://www.provisiondata.com
http://www.rackforce.com
http://www.rackster.com
Elsewhere across Canada:
------------------------
http://www.247-host.ca/
http://www.looniehosting.ca/

From personal experience through customers, I would never suggest Telus or Shaw. Both of these offer "Business" packages including phone/internet (their forte) with some web hosting. Neither of these have the full service control panel/basic features that regular web hosting companies have.
Shaw you can't use your own .htacess file.
Telus you can't park domains yourself through the control panel and is way too expensive.
Will check out the rest of your suggestions though, thanks!

Here is another one I recently came across, in Alberta:
Hostbeaver.ca/
They are pretty new, so don't have history to check out.

Insert my standard "ev1/theplanet support and host spammers without issue" reminder.
