Weird Happenings when changing hosts?

Switched a site to a new host at the same time posting a brand new site.
For some period of time we are able to see both the old site at the old host and the new site on the new host; from different locations, etc. But, in one office we see the new site on a PC and the old site on a Mac.

Any ideas?

different dns update at different rates. most of the time mine for instance updates just within a few hours, but i can go and get online at my university and it will not update for 3 or 4 days at times. So it just depends on how quickly your ISP updates it, and if it is on the same isp it is probably jsut your cache not being cleared on one computer.

Yeah, one set of dns here is notorious for being slow. Days and days. Has something to so with being in amilitary installation I think. It's the mac vrs pc thing that was strang. I was not at the office to see what was going on so I can't say if the cache was cleared.

the computer might have also cached it, good thing to flush dsn and try again, DNS changes, even name server changes, should only take 6 to 48 hours , on rare cases up to 72 hours

Depends on when the provider updates the DNS records, doesn't have anything to do with the computer

yeah.. before you could blame the nameserver switch.. but now.. for .com/.net/.org it's almost instant. So most likely it's the isp provider

I had once a simple problem that bothered me for awhile untill I thought
about it more, I had a Server Machine setup in my home, through my ISP
I was on a small Bussiness package I had a few customers I was hosting
and I started to runout of Bandwidth and IP's my ISP DSL could not offer
more Bandwidth so I moved it to the hosting company I currenty now have
when I redirected all names even my customers names I was the only one
that could not reach the site mine or the other customers sites.

But then it hit me it was simple, sence I was hosting through my ISP I had
them enter in their DNS my domain name as well as my customers domain names to
point to my Machine, so I called them and had them remove them all, and like
magic I could now surf to my site as well as my customers sites.

My customers sites just follow my NS1 and NS2 names. in case your wondering how
I rederected my customers domain names.

Something so simple you just over look it.

Zcoder....
