How to make this work?

I have a site
asia-expatsforum.com and I want to have another web directory site.
i own the name expatwebdirectory.com and have purchased a web directory php script.
what i would like to make work is to install the directory on my existing forum database but when the expatwebdirectory. com url is entered it will lead to the directory. Is that a practical way to do this? Would it be search engine friendly? Am I making any sense. My alternative would be to install teh the directory on another hosting account and make it seperate from my forum

Many hosts provide add-on domains. So you could point your second domain to your current account and it will be a seperate folder in that account. You'll then be able to go to say asia-expatsforum.com/dirserver or expatwebdirectory.com to get the same page. You will have to check with your host, but if you have cPanel you should be able to tell from the index of that.

An add-on domain is a domain that points to your server and directs to a specific folder (altho that folder from that domain appears as the top folder). I'm not sure if this is the same as an alias domain. I'll do some checking.

"A Secondary Domain Alias (a.k.a. A Domain Name Pointer or Domain Alias) is another domain name you can use to access the services at your main domain. In other words, you can use one domain name to point to the services of another domain.

For example, if you had the domain name "primary-domain.com" and also had the domain "secondary-domain.com", you could set up a website on the primary domain, then use both www.primary-domain.com and www.secondary-domain.com to get to the same single website. "

It would appear that an Alias Domain or Domain Alias does not provide the same function as an addon domain. I think your only option to get make it a new host (or redirect). Then again there might be a way to make your index do this: If from first.com send to /public_html if from second.com send to /public_html/secondary Altho I'm not sure how you do this.

I'm not a very SEO intelligent person, but my guess would be about the same. SEOs follow links, so when it follows the link to the domain what loads is the page its being told to see, so I don't think it could / would affect it adversely. Altho I wouldn't quote me on that.

I would suggest php.net to see if there is a way to get the domain in the address bar. If you can't find it or whateva, I would suggest posting in the coding forum.
