HostRocket?

Hey,

I just checking out some sites yesterday. Came across HostRocket which
I see is located in NY, which is where I'm from.

Has anyone actually used them?

I'm always looking for a good hosting solution to offer to friends and clients,
and they have an affiliate program also. Says they pay $65 no matter
what package they choose. I find that questionable....

I currently have a dedicated box for my traffic site with "ThePlanet" but
they don't do affiliate sales.

I'm setting up a site for my wife, and its currently on my dedicated. The
HostRocket sells dedicated boxes also. Anyone have one through them?

Support is top priority in my book, and they say they have 24/7 phone
support, and so does the planet so thats a good sign.

Realwebhost(.com) have good offers too, I have a dedicated server with them.

Give them a call, mention "Zain Jaffer", and I'm sure they can give you a good deal - 877 794 5285

Well,

An associate of mine told me that HostRocket use to be with
Commission Junction, and were dumped for not paying their
affiliates. He said, they still owe him $300 in commissions
that he'll probably never see.

PS: The Important thing is that they must actually house the
servers, and not be just another 3rd party provider.

So you want the host to actually own the datacenter in which they have their servers?

This will narrow down the search if this is what you mean, since only a handful of web hosts can even afford to run there own datacenter.
