If you sell rights for the domain name - I suppose new owner will be able to change all information for the domain name.

If you push the domain to someone else, that new owner needs to change the nameservers to what there current host gives them since they will have the domain attached to there hosting account.

In godaddy, even though you push a domain to someone, that new person still needs to edit the nameservers once the domain is in his account. After doing this, he'll have full control over the domain. I did this last year when i bought a website. Once i had a new hosting account opened, i changed the nameservers and was finally able to get away from the previous owner's hosting account.

When you ask your webhost to transfer your site over to the new owners hosting account, the whole site will still remain intack. You don't have to worry about re-installing files or changing settings. When i sold my forum a few years ago, my hosting provider transfered whole site over. (Contact your webhost first and ask them if they will transfer your site to another hosting account) All i did was give the new owner the passwords needed to do this and also other passwords for the forum stuff i had enabled on there. Was no downtime at all since i gave all the passwords to the new owner to run the site without contacting me anymore.

I think that pushing with GoDaddy is different than some companies. If you push a domain with them I thought the nameservers stay the same until the new owner changes them. However, if you transfer it to someone else then the nameservers would have to be re-setup.
