CName issue

I've never had any trouble setting up CNAMES before, but I'm having a real hard time getting this one to work. According to the screenshot, the pac subdomain should resolve to the designated IP, correct. Am I just missing something?

I believe you want to put the domain name in there, not the IP address.

I just checked my servers and they have the domain listed in both those fields, as opposed to the IP address.

There is no domain...it's a dedicated server at the office of the client.

I can access the ip directly with a browser, but can't get this to work. There's got to be a way. I'll keep digging.

John, that turned out to be helpful because it got me thinking in another direction. Because the IP has no alias...no domain, the CNAME doesn't work. Instead I set the A records of the subdomain to point to the desired IP and that did it.

Thanks!
