Getting our own files from a host

We are having huge problems with our host

They are saying we might have been hacked

They are saying they have not cleared our files but they want to

They will not give us access to the forum folders or gallery, which is 3 years of history

Surely legally we have a right to our own information

Ah man that sucks. I used iPowerWeb a long time ago, hosted a forum there, and they do suck.

I had about 10 customers hosting with ipower too and we have had nothing but problems.. Our server was even used for phishing, we contacted ipower support and had them disable the phishing directory.. then a few hours later ipower took the whole site down and suspended our account for almost a week pending all sorts of back and forth emails!! The idiots never realized that it was us who warned them of the hack in the first place!!!

Many of our customers have moved out of ipower and I cant wait to move as well.. Downtime during most critical times is very common and all the support says is "if it is so critical, you should consider a dedicated server package!!!" WTF???

I dont wanna hijack this thread and will start a new one on horror stories of ipowerweb later but just wanted to say I am not surprised to hear that you are having issues with them.

I suggest that you file a complaint with Better Business Bureau of Southland L.A at http://www.labbb.org

Why dont you cancel order from Ipower

Yep we had a lot of problems, we had to pay for another year to get our information and files etc.

we are now with a British host, so much better, they have their own forum and we can keep up to date with whats happening generally not just with our server but with all of them.

It gives a certain amount of confidence to know that the information is available publically
