'download complete'

my visitors in my site are complaining that their downloads are not completed.

the members who complain are mostly those using dial up connections. and true enough when i tried downloading the files thru a dial up connection (50.6kbps), i was only able to get a partial file (32k-50k) when the download process window showed 'download completed'.

i've complained about this with my hosting provider but they say there's nothing wrong with their server.

i have this notion that this might be their way of limiting my bandwidth consumption, but then this is such a lame way of doing it.

my best bet is this is a config setting problem (apache ?) which they don't know about.

any other ideas on what's causing this ?

any thoughts will be highly appreciated.

Try switching to an FTP as opposed to an HTTP download engine.
The technology may be older but it works much better IMHO.

thanks for the info, i'll look into that.

i'm still just wondering how come the dial up accounts can dl from other sites just fine and not with my download page...
