name2host.com complaints
name2host combines domain registration and hosting services for a pretty low price ($30 or $40 / year) but it's almost impossible to get support. they literally ignore email questions and have no phone support at all! you can't get in touch with these people... totally shady!
while my site was hosted by name2host, there were several major service disruptions, email problems etc. I once tried to register a domain with them, was told the transaction failed... I tried again and got the same message. a month later, on my credit card statement there were 2 charges for a domain name I don't own! I can't count how many times I've tried to get in touch with them and get my money back and heard NOTHING in response!
Transfering my domain from name2host.com was also a nightmare:
The whois info was set to private, thus untransferable with seemingly no way of changing it!
it took many unanswered (or answered with brief unclear responses) emails to find a members control panel at:
manage.name2host.com
nowhere on the name2host site is there any reference to this page.
I hope that posting this helps people avoid the name2host service, and is helpfull to anybody searching for a way to control (transfer) their name2host hosted domain.
