Good VPS webhost

What VPS host is good and inexpensive.
Right now I have InMotion. I don't need a top of the line VPS package.

Here are my requirements:

1 The ability to pay monthly.
2 php and mysql support.
3 At least 2 dedicated IP's.
4 Root access.

I was looking at Hostgator, they seem like a viable option.
Any recommendations besides Hostgator?

Thanks

Well if you want recommendation for comparison then I would suggest you to browse sub forum categories of this section. You should be able to find a quality host there. Even I recommend you to browse some of the posts here along with hosting offer sections. I am sure this will help you in getting your next host quickly.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go with Host Gator. I was comparing the features of Inmotion and Host Gator and Host Gator had better specs than Inmotion yet it is cheaper than Inmotion.
The reviews of Host Gator here on v7n are positive. Anybody have any experience with HostGator

I don't have experience with Hostgator's VPS, but their shared hosting had been fine for my needs for 7 or 8 years now.

As for VPS, I've only used a fully managed VPS from Liquidweb, and it was great. Back when I purchased it I found a coupon at webhostingtalk.com, which gave better specs and a lower price.

If you're a well seasoned server admin, you could go for an unmanaged VPS - it will surely come with root access. I seem to recall that Slicehost and Linode were getting good reviews, but this was a while ago, and I never used them myself.

I beleive you should definitely use vpswebserver.com VPS solutions.
They are well-known as quality hosting provider with cheap prices, useful features and high available support.

If you haven't signed up already, I suggest you take a look @ wiredtree and Liquidweb. They are probably better options that Hostgator, even though costlier.

You guys are right-Hostgator seems like it would be about the same as Inmotion. I shouldn't pick a host just because they are popular. Liquid web looks good but I am not too familiar with cloud computing. Is it something like distributed computing?

Strangely enough you share an IP with that company...

Are you looking for managed or unmanaged?

If Managed, I'd say Liquid Web or maybe ServInt. You can also get a 3rd party management company to do the work for you if you really needed it as well.

Unmanaged, depending on location:
QuickWeb.co has some nice VPSes - used one for monitoring and never went down for a year.
ramhost.us also has some nice ones as well.

A mid-range VPS (Linux) will work just fine for you.
You'll probably want 1GB of RAM at least to keep things running smoothly. Managed or unmanaged options are available and it is up to you to see which fits you better.

I think that that covers most good VPS hosting providers. I'd check on the quality of the equipment, the level of support (always not thought about until you need it, by which time it is critical) and infrastructure uptime.
