Is it reasonably to try to find cheap hosting?

Small, new and simple website. Very little visitors.
Tried to use 2 cheap web hostings. One was frequently downtimes because of hardware. The second got downtime (according to hosting administrator information) because data center blocked their server. And blocked because one of websites, hosted on the server, was phishing site of paypal.
So now I am thinking - ok, may be better to pay more, but also no guaranties that will no problems with more expensive hosting.

May be someone can advice what price range would be optimal for such small website? I remember some years before I used bluehost. Can not tell that no problems. No downtime, but sometimes hosting was very slow....

If multiple name servers point to one website it is not good for SEO? Is it possible at all?

You CAN use multiple name servers.. but it's something I would only recommend for larger sites. They can do it to prevent any down time etc and/or people with browsing issues. You can use multiple name servers to point to duplicates of sites so when you're viewing a site, if one host goes down it can use the other and the website will still be there for you to view. I don't think it has any bearing on SEO at all.

As for cheap hosting, you can find cheap but dependable hosting plans out there. BlueHost is good, there's also FatCow, HostGator, Dhruva Hosting and more.

Mulitple name servers pionting to one site should not effect seo. Name servers only tell computers what IP address to go to when given a domain name. Sorry to hear about your problems with previous hosts. It's sounds like you found cheaper is not always best.

There are many reliable web host providers where you can get a shared hosting account in the $5 - $10 per month range. Before signing up check that they have a service level agreement that states what compensation they have available if their equipment causes your site to not be available. The multiple name servers pointing to one site is called "round-robin dns", the main thing to remember with that is that if your site is unavailable via one nameserver your site visitors would have to refresh their browser in order to attempt to connect to the second nameserver, and even then it would be a 50-50 chance they would reach it. (assuming you have 2 different nameservers). For most small sites that is usually good enough, but remember that it is not a true automatic fail-over solution.

Mulitple name servers pionting to one site should not effect yor website. I tried a lot of hosting serveres, cheap hosting, expensive hostings, dedicate servers and can suggest to go with hostgator for small hosting. They are good, not very cheap but good. A cheap solution is 1Dollar-WebHosting . com, they are pretty good.

I think the issue was that you didn't do enough research into the hosts before you bought. You always want to do trial runs with hosts before you really commit. If you have a budget, stick to it and try out some hosts. Some will stick and you can narrow your choices from there.

As pingpipe mentioned, $5-$10 is the normal rate for a decent hosting and I think that is cheap enough. Anything less than that is not going to be reliable. There are so many reasonable hosts in that range.

Forget about multiple name servers, you are looking for a basic set up.

Keep it simple, like others are saying don't get complex with your dns or trying to come up with other ways to circumvent downtime. You're not likely going to come up with a better solution than a professional doing this will. That being said, you need to find some company that has some of those professionals.

I always recommend staying around from "unlimited everything!" because if you're a light weight site, you're clearly just paying for some heavy weight user to use up all your resources. Find something that suits your needs.

I went looking for some hosting the other day and it's a little daunting. I haven't done it in a long time and I was even having some difficulties myself. I was looking to recommend something (in the $100/month range) that was going to be up all the time, but for a light weight site. Quality was the key, and there was a lot of crap. Reputation is the biggest thing when looking because when looking at the metrics, it's difficult to get a really good picture. Quality of people running, how over loaded are the servers, what kind of bandwidth do they have, if they're vps machines, how many are they running on a box, are they buying resold bandwidth which could be over sold, are they in a facility that will stay up, do they have any backup plans if things start falling apart. Most write up a good game, but don't implement anything, and that's where recommendations come into play.

Maybe 3-4 years ago, the $5-10 price point was cheap but now a days you should look for $2-3 a month as cheap. This will get you a shared plan and in some cases, a free domain.

Reliable and affordable hosting is a good ground to find when looking for a provider. Also, consider customer service and if a host offers 24/7 technical support. These qualities will generally leave you with a company and a service that you trust.

I'd say $5-$10 range is good and remember the golden rule, "You get what you pay for". Do a bit of research online for the hosting provider you are looking into, a quick google search with reviews should suffice. When in doubt call the customer service team and grill them with your questions. You can tell by their attitude and their knowledge how well of a service they will be. Good luck!

Within what I consider cheap, $4 to $10, I could suggest BirdHosting or Powermonster. I use their service and I believe I sort of stealing them paying what I pay for what I get.

You shouldn't have a problem finding descent hosting service providers for your budget, where the downtime is not too high.

I noticed that you're based out of Lativa, I think you'll find quite a few good hosting providers in Germany, Netherlands, France and of course the UK that would be able to help you.

Check before you sign up, as some of the more famous larger players are the ones with the biggest problems, but I think that you'll find there are quite a few.

What's your budget if you don't mind me asking? And how much were you paying?

Now trying one Latvia based hosting. Cost (if expressed in USD) ~ USD 3,5 per month. Previously created website uptime controlling service for their domain and uptime was ok for ~ 4 months (almost no downtime). Now checking the hosting. Also trying one hosting based in Germany and for last month downtime was ~ 1 hour

Always when looking for any kind of webhosting do a simple Google search to get some feedback/reviews about them. It will save you a lot of time money and hassle.
