Best hosting solution for an ecommerce website

I have an ecommerce website which is 2.3GB file size and 0.43MB of traffic per month. Ive got a VPS as I thought it would be faster but it doesnt seem too good and Im not technical enough to run it myself, they didnt explain Id have to manage it myself.

What would be the best hosting solution for my situation, Im looking foir maximum speed but where the company will set it up, its an ASP site so needs to be a windows server.

This is a question, not an offer to buy.

Sorry that information is wrong

The sites 11.1gb hard disk space used and traffic is 6.8gb per month, if it makes any difference the Microsoft SQL database is 1.68 MB.

I've haven't used many hosts but I was on the deluxe shared hosting plan with GoDaddy for a year and recently switched to Hostgator because the performance of GoDaddy was totally unacceptable at times. I can't praise HG enough! On a good day with GD, my pages would load in 3-5 seconds, but there were times of the day it would take a lot longer. Since moving to HG, my site loads MUCH faster and it's consistent. Try navigating through the site and you'll see for yourself.
Because I was so impressed with the performance, especially for the price, I wrote an article on my blog today comparing the two. You should check it out if you're thinking along those lines: http://techod.com/hostgator-vs-godaddy/ (ignore the messy theme, it's being worked on)

Just my opinion, but for 6.8GB per month, I think a VPS is a bit overkill. You should check out a shared hosting plan at HG. I'm using 3GB per month at the moment.

Are you looking for a VPS / Shared hosting? what is your budget like?

Also, you may need to find a specialist host and need to set up the site yourself. Hosts some times move sites from one host to another, but that is limited to certain control panels. An ASP site may not be moved by any host. Basically you need to have the technical skills to manage your site or need access to a technical person to do it for you. Find someone in Elance and get a good specialist host. In any case, stay away from the $5 unlimited host, as you have an ecommerce site.

In long run, you may need either a PHP site based in scripts like Magento or a hosted solution since your skills are limited. ASP is dead and .net is not the right solution for a small business.

For ecommerce site if its serious traffic website I will always recommend dedicated server over VPS.

Look into managed services would be the way to proceed. If your sales allow you to keep running a VPS or Server keep it that way. This will allow you to grow a few times without having to bring your Site down to move to a larger solution every time.

You should be checking your traffic first, but if you're looking for some fast server. Dedicated server hosting is your best solution.

To run your e-commerce applications successfully, you need a Semi - Managed or Fully Managed Windows VPS. Windows VPS will provide you full control over IIS / Mail Servers and SQL Database. Windows VPS with a proper web hosting management control panel will be a good choice.
