HostGator pulled a fast one

I have an affiliate link on my site which gets me a few dollars if anyone gets some space with them through it.

A friend of mine got some space with them but couldn't do it via my link as my site (which is hosted by hostgator) was temporarily down.

I mentioned this to them and he offered to help by telling them that he got it on my recommendation but they said "sorry, there's nothing we can do about it".

Talk about double-whammy

well that stinks! I think that they should honor it regardless.

I think what is annoying is the fact that I lost out due to their server downtime and they won't do anything about it even though my client and I both say that.

Talk about trying to hog every penny

Why not move? there are plenty of decent hosts around. I'm sure you could find a decent one. I've heard BlueHost are good I am currently considering a move to them.

I have only lost out on the affiliate scheme setup at the moment but if they pull this kind of stunt again, then I will act further and they won't just lose me

My host gives me x $ for every account I refer to them. Actually I have a choice as to whether I want cash or my hosting account credited. After x # of referrals, the amt increases

He he, i would do that too, pay % for people who bring customers to me

Any one know why my "paypal buttons" uses for customers to order
only can clicks able in a short times like 2 weeks (then after that times, they cant uses any more, you clicks them--->they not directly to "paypal account", or we can says that the buttons are just like an images, not the links,

That is so funny, i have to renew them all the times, or replaces the new buttons
