Better Hoster?
Hi
I currently host my own personal site using one.com for £20 per year and I was wondering if you know any better hosters which are more cheap but have a good control panel. As I am restricted to what I can do on my current hoster

I don't use Hostgator right now but used them for 4 years and had a good experience with them. They use cpanel which is easy to figure out.

Use there live chat option to ask pre-sales questions and let them know what type of site you have and what you expect to be able to do.

What are your exact needs? Ie. how much disk space and bandwidth do you require? What type of site is it? Does your site run a cms, like wordpress, joomla etc?
Answering these questions will help everyone guide you to a good host replacement. 20 a year will be hard to match also.

Thanks for the quick replies.
My Site is a personal one (mrdomo118.co.uk)
I currently have 5GB web storage and I think that could be a minimum, I dont expect lots of people on the site at one time currently over 2 years i have had about 8690 visitors which I think is quite good. I would like it to be pay yearly and also with lots of features!! (cpanel)
Thanks
Sorry forgot to mention is has 3 subdomains and it runs wordpress on one of them

I seconded Snakeair.
I'd start with babycrock and just load it up with a lot of sites that I do. If I see some winners and start making good traffic (and money obviously), only then I'd move that particular site to a VPS or something like that.
So yeah, either hostgator or bluehost
protip: see if you got friends whos an affiliate of HG and buy through their links

I think you can ask directly to customer service live chat. You can ask what you need for your hosting needed.

you can try dollar2host.com - very cheap hosting (keep in mind that it's shared hosting, not vps or dedicated server)

I host several sites with Hawkhost too. I'm happy with them. It's only been a couple of months but no problems so far.

You will find that most of the mainstream hosts such as 1&1, bluehost etc will use their own in-house control panels, which is good in someways as they truely know how to manage it from a security aspect but it usually means there are a lot of restrictions with what you can do.
Going for a host with cPanel (The majority, especially small-medium businesses) will give you a lot more control over your website and how it functions.

£20 per year! You mustn't get many benefits or features, get over to Hostgator, good prices to begin with a even better when needed to support a bigger load

You pay not much for your host, the OP.
If they can upgrade your account, stay with them.

ASmallOrange is good for cheap / small packages that doesn't oversell. Hostgator is a also good, but I would recommend ASO, if you don't want an over seller.
