Need cheap hosting ($1)
I see there are some hosting providers that have a simple hosting plan for about $1. I would like to know if these services are trustworthy and worth trying. I have a domain and would like to get a blog going but don’t want to waste a lot of money on hosting.
-Here is an example

I'm quite happy with both WestHost and DreamHost.

I doubt you'll find a reliable one for under $5. Hostww is fantastic. I'm with them for almost a year and have been very happy

I have a few accounts at BuyWebHost. Its only $24 a year per account. I have had no downtime with them. Takes about 2 to 3 days for them to set up your account though and send you an email with the details.

£2.99 - www.xilo.net - I host one of my new sites on this package (until it's completed) and I've not had any downtime, and the support is very good - useful forum if you have any problems.
Have servers in the UK & US.

I don't think that in $1 you can expect good support from the hosting company. These types of web hosts have poor servers, which means lot of downtime.

I found buywebhost on a web hosting review site. They do not offer any bells and whistles. I have had no problems with them and they have good bandwidth and storage.

What kind of space are you looking for Emperor? If you are in dire need, I can just give you a free account on my server and give you cPanel with it. Free of Charge.
Give me a holler if you want it.
P.S- If it's only a blog you want, and maybe a little playing room, I can surely do this for you.

Sorry for taking so long to respond but I’ve been so occupied doing the finishing touches on my new site that haven’t had time to post.
Thanks a lot for the offer Izmmo but I gave up on the idea. “Just don’t have time for a new blog”.

No problem. The offer still stands if you ever do decide to go make one!

I think it's better to use free servers for the first time of promotion. If you'll have a lot of visitors in future you'll take some paid hosting. Some free servers are not bad. f.e. www.atspace.com or www.awardspace.com

We don't allow self promotion here, Avasi

Well after seeing this post about free hosting I became curious and decided to try it out. You do get free hosting and you can use your private domain “not sub domain” but I’m afraid that’s about it. I tried installing WP, S9, B2, textpatern, Joomla “and joomla + WP” and Geeklog, being joomla the only one that actually installed properly. When I tried installing the Wp extension it gave me errors. None of the scripts were actually supported by them except geeklog but even that did not install correctly. I’ve been trying for about a week now so I’ve given up on.

Didn't you see the post above where it says we don't allow self promotion here?
