It depends on what country you are living in. We use paypal, 2co, liberty reserve, payza, moneybooker.

I think payment processor depends on couple of factors:

1. Goodies or services that you sell
2. Targeted audience

Personaly our company use PayPal.

I don't use any, during my web development business, have come across many. Paypal is obviously very popular and they do have solutions for small business as well as large - accepting credit cards on your own website and connecting via API.

Another popular option is 2checkout, I guess especially so with international business and they make things easy - no need of merchant accounts etc. They also wire the balance to merchants in any country, making them a favorite of international merchants.

Why do you use those payment gateways/what is your experience with those payment gateways?

Paypal is an easy to setup, instant way to accept and send money and it is used internationally. It was very easy for transitioning from taking payments personally to using my LLC. As for Authorize.net you have to go through underwriting to be approved and must be accepted and can take anywhere time and a lengthy application process (similar to a credit card). We signed up with Auth.net after issues with 2checkout and could not have been happier. Their easy to use, integrated with our billing software great and have great rates.

We are running a web hosting company and 2Checkout is handling all payment through credit card for us and PayPal doesn't need to have any presentation.

For web hosting owners, having more then 1 processor can increase your sales from around the world. We all know certain countries basically are banned from getting a paypal account. My host only offers paypal and that's it but they target only USA customer's.

If you looking to target people all over the world, you better have mutliple payment processors.

Paypal. Most people in the world use it. So far, only a few problems are encountered in this site.
