one of their disadvantage is :

no more FTP ACCOUNT on WINDOWS plan. it's really bad. CP is poor. hard to understand.

I like other things except above things at IX yet.

mentioning about their control panel.
its bit odd to browse at the beginning, and somehow, few things are bit tedious just to get a thing done. Unlike cpanel that is straight forward and get what you want.

however, the ixwebhosting control panel, one very good thing is that i can upgrade my plan myself without affecting anything nor need support help. Even can switch to windows easily, but i won't. And downgrade plan as well.

i love this features, where i can add new domain, and got a free dedicated IP.

H-sphere is simple and easy, good enough for most users.
Best thing about IX is that they offer dedicated IP for each site.

I just want to disagree with your first statement, if the company offering cheap, or if you don't like this term, budget hosting, cares for their clients, they will certainly install Cpanel making their lives easier when it comes to support. saying this I mean companies offering budget hosting like webhostingbuzz.com, hostmonster.com, micfo.com.

but those with own custome control panel.. can sell cheaper, and down to $3+...

I do not know much about them, There are good and bad reviews on them, Maybe wait for someone who has been with them to give you a review.

They're one of my web host providers. I would recommend others based on an unpleasant experience I had with them. I had asked for secure file transfer and shell access, and got unacceptable and rude answers in response from their support staff. The staff wouldn't even let me escalate the matter to the next level of management.
