Oh, I've heard from them. In fact, I received an email this morning assuring me that I would receive a credit for services and support not rendered, and I moved my sites to a new host last week. Now accuBURST is busy trying to cover it's tracks by frantically deleting posts from their own
support forums. As of yesterday, those forums contained posts complaining about accuBURST not answering support calls or setting up hosting after billing people, but now those most recent posts are gone. Thankfully, I took a screenshot as evidence of their apparent abandonment of the business to send with my complaint to the Dept. of Consumer Protection in Connecticut (where accuBURST/PolariStar LLC) is based.
I know it seems like a lot of effort, but someone must hold these people accountable if they are to be stopped. I'm clearly not the only person who has been screwed by accuBURST, and I want people to know they DO have recourse and can get their money back if they are persistent about it. It takes time and effort, of course, but I've already done much of the research on who to contact, where to file a formal complaint that will actually be investigated, etc. So, anyone jumping on the bandwagon now has a far easier road than the one I had for the past two months! I've done most of the legwork for them.
