I need a good webhost! Any experience with Inmotion hosting?
I’m looking for a good web host where I can start my online business. The world of web hosting is a bit like a jungle to me. There are so many with hosting plans that look great, but when you actually buy the plan, it all falls apart (been there, and didn't get my promised money back)
I would be very grateful if you could give me any advice on what web host/business plan I should choose.
These are some of the things I’m looking for in a host plan:
-Members only area with registration, login, etc to get access (also unlimited numbers of members)
-Plenty of traffic
-Possibility to show HTML codes in scroll boxes
-Shopping cart (PayPal and Credit card)
I have been looking at the Pro-plan that Inmotionhosting is offering. It looks very appealing, especially since you can host 6 sites with just the one account. But it does not specify if I can set up a PayPal shopping cart, or if any of my above needs is possible.
Does anyone have any experience with this web host? http : // www . inmotionhosting . com / hostingplans.html
Thank you in advanced!

Frankly speaking I've heard nothing about this hosting. Maybe it's good - no news is a good news. I think if it's bad there would be a lot of negative reviews about this hosting.
Just started using hostrocket.com not bad at all plenty of bandwidth and specs are good. Scripts fairly upto date too. Always a good thing, anybody listening at Godaddy?
I thought I had found the perfect host today, but after seeing all your replies I’ll have to do some more research. Thank you all for the responses and help.
I’m very new at this and since the first host I decided to go with just picked my pockets, I’m a little bit more careful this time.
DO NOT promote your host, DO NOT promote your "buddys" host.
If you spam you will be banned, PERIOD!

Hmm, so marie6 have you found your host? Not too sure if you just promoting inmotion, but if you aren't than paypal would work with any host on any shopping cart that support paypal
You can also set members only area and have them sign up before entering your site

I would like to bring to your attention the best hosting site http:wizwebhost.com I have ever known. I am not getting paid for this and I have not been asked to put their ad here. They are such a fantastic company that I want to tell as many people as I can about their site. And they are so inexpensive. wizwebhost.com

I don't really know what you mean by plenty of traffic, but look at webhostingbuzz.com budget hosting plans, they provide 4 different shopping cart scripts.
In December 2006 I bought a Windows Professional account with Wizwebhost. Initially, the service was OK, despite some technical problems.
However, as of March this year the service went downhill. We received an email that our website was down and the database was lost. We lost almost three weeks of information! This event gave us a lot of stress and trouble and even worse, it gave a very bad impression of our website.
After this event we requested the wizwebhost admins to help us back up our database, which took SIX weeks to be realized.
Regrettably, the drama continued… In June and July our website was more often down than online. Due to server maintenance (to improve services?) our website was down for a week.
Later, our account was moved to another server. It took almost another week to be online again. Whenever we posted a ticket we received a message that they working on it with the promise that it was going to be solved soon. In the meantime nothing changes.
Due to these problems we lost many visitors and advertising revenues…
Bad service, no or delayed response, a lot of stress, frustration and lack of trust forced us to move our website to another host. We pay three times more for the new host, but our site has been online 100% since!
This is the latest response I got from WizWebHost:
A: Dear Customer,
Thank you for using our services.
Your issue has been forwarded to the concern department, they will get back to you soon.
Should have any further questions please feel free to contact us anytime, we will be glad to assist you.
Regards,
We are now FOUR months later and they’re still coming back to me!
My advice: NEVER, NEVER… WizWebHost!
It’ll save you a lot of stress and headaches!Smile
