is shared hosting good option for 15 - 20k visitors daily

I'm in plan to take shared server hosting from hostgator and need suggestions upon my needs.

So far i've been managing two of my client websites in single domain hosting (economy hosting) for each website on godaddy , and now its time up to renew and has become more burden on my budget. I would like to buy and move those websites to shared hosting on hostgator where i can save lot of money. I even excelled at migration and i can able to do. Well in future one of those sites may get 15k-20k visitors daily. So my question will shared hosting be a good option to handle large no.of visitors without any issues?

I would stick on something higher than shared hosting. Having this amount of visitors per day may have your hosting provider suspend your account for fair usage.

You are best looking at a VPS, or at the very least a semi dedicated solution.

with 20,000 visits a day - 13 visits every minute. You are likely to hit CPU, RAM, and EP limits for most shared hosts.

You move these sites to Hostgator and they will suspend your account in a few hours with that level of usage.

Also stay away from Hostgator - they are an EIG owned host.

I will say NO, if you are expecting 20K visitors per day shared hosting wont be good the job. Think if VPS or dedicated server.

You may start from a cheap VPS from a decent provider. It's much better than a shared account.

Most of the shared hosts can't bear such amount visitors per day. VPS maybe a better choice for you.

If its' a burden on your budget, clearly are not charging your clients enough.

Yes i'm not charging them with profit margins currently. As it is my startup, and those clients can help me get more clients.

Here is an other continued supporting question to my post, and i should thank all for your responses.
if shared hosting is not good for such huge visitors, then can i go with signing up for free cloudflare account where it lessen the burden on shared server and allows atleast avg. 10k visitors daily

CLoudflare may work but if you expect your customer's websites to grow etc you should explain that to them and if they get to the stage they outgrow shared hosting then tell them that.

I'm always honest with customers. Making it clear because they have a popular website it needs more power.

I would say for this amount of visitors you really need to be on a VPS or dedicated server.

I would say at some point the host would ask you to upgrade if your account was using that amount of traffic.

Don't use digital ocean (directly)
Recently I heard news on Facebook group,
Digital ocean suspend accounts without given notice to users.
If user not having backup. Then how can he restore his website.

Personally say digital ocean servers are good, this reason most of the users taken
Digital ocean managed hosting. (Cloudways)

IftiSEO is one of the famous SEO guys around and many people comments on his blogpost which gives them a referring link. Until and unless you are spamming, the DigitalOcean or any hosting company can't delete your hosting account. As a SEO guy, he might have crossed his limits. Or his site might be targeted by hackers causing a disruption to hosting provider.

DO is self managed and even if its not the client mistake and he is infected he can suffer. So better option is to go for managed Hosting provide where server is monitored and clients are assisted for any hack or spoofing attempt.

I fully agree with this statement. Plus its saves alot of hassle when both you and the hosting company can work together to resolve hacked websites.

I remember hosting 2x servers with HostDime a few years ago that were targeted. HostDime took care of this and fully resolved my issues without any intervention from myself.
