How do U ppl rate Hosting Company with ref to Server Locataion
Hello,
On reads here and there that there are USA based server and all that. I would like to have a debate in this forum as to how one can say that servers from a specific country and region can be given prefrence. To channelize disucssion we can say that give one has choice and a web hosting server at USA, Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa. How would you rate these and basing on what criteria.

as my preference, i will always choose host in USA.
definately i will not want to host it at somewhere that i havent heard before, or somewhere that had bad internet provider.
USA, simply the hosting is backed by multiple highspeed internet line. less issue.
take account the global dns as well. if the dns at, eg. taiwai (lately earthquick)... breakdown, the whole region internet is effected more or less.

For most of the international users, the choice is between their home country and USA. The fact is that US companies are more professional and generally more reliable than most of the other countriese. Costwise also, they are a lot cheaper than other countires.
Except for getting a local IP, US host will be better for most of the people. I know some people from countries like japan, Germany, UK etc. will prefer their own country. Language, local Ip adress (and ranking in local google search), a slightly faster connections would be the obvious reasons.

What makes you think that the facilities at say germany or Uk or Australia etc will not be as good.

Try any dutch hoster then... 90% of them are in Datacenters that are directly connected or one hop away from AMS-IX Heck it's quite normal here to have 7 redundant backbones. with connections at AMS-IX, DE-CIX. BNIX, KPN Eurorings, Global Crossing etc etc. The downside of this all that dutch hosters are relatively expensive and not to high on the bandwidth part, but as for speed it's insane.
