Hello,

Unfortunately we were forced to suspend your account. For excessive CPU usage. Below is a summary of your usage. Please note that the acceptable usage range for shuttle and voyager plans is 1.0% average %CPU or less, 1.0% average %Memory or less and Top Processes below 20%. Currently, your usage far exceeds this range at

talkwebz.com
CPU 18.10 MEM 9.77 MYSQL 0.0

Top Process %CPU 121 /usr/bin/php
Top Process %CPU 90.9 /usr/bin/php
Top Process %CPU 83.5 /usr/bin/php

Please look into this issue at your earliest convenience.
Thanks in advance.

I think that is the question of overselling.

Typical LunarPages. I used to host a couple sites there for ****s and giggles and they were always timing out when the sites got lots of traffic. Good host if you have no traffic, horrible host if you get serious traffic.

Partly, it is the hosts to blame. They oversell everything to a ridiculous extend and people start thinking they can run any kind of site for 5$ per month. one of my friend had the same probalem with another host. he was forced to move to a VPS, which was far slower than the shared host! he gets around 1,25,000 page views a day, all ASP pages. Finally he had to selltle for a reasonably good Dedicated server. Imagine, some shared hosts take resources that is more than the capacity of a VPS!

Maybe but shared hosting is shared hosting and we should know that a busy sites doesn't belong there, I wouldn't keep a site getting 3k a day in unique visitors on php/mysql anywhere near a shared host, just common sense people

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/ - 7,000 to 8,000 uniques a day, PHP / MySQL resource intensive, and happily hosted in a shared environment on V7 Inc servers.

I'm not saying it isn't possible but:

1. v7n isn't a normal general host
2. big shared hosts put more people on servers.

Also, i bet you have done some tweaking on that server and its not sharing 300 other sites by people, right?

Correct. Each box is limited to 100 clients, max.

Know its not, i've worked for 2 big ones and know owners of quite a few others. They put a lot more people on a box then 100.

That isn't shared hosting in terms of the actual hosting market

I know they do, and I'm saying it's wrong to do so. It is irresponsible.

Sure it is - it is responsible shared hosting.

I agree, but for most people hosting blogs with pictures of babies that get 20 hits a month they don't know that and never will. Nor do I think they care. For webmasters I'm glad their is a service like yours.

from business point of view, and for other customer needs, no business will allow single user to over use the server.

for example hostgator shared hosting set a limit, roughly you hit 10k-15k pageview of forum site. its oK. but too much peak, or above 30 mysql connection, you get error on following pageview, until the usage drop. so, the interuption occur before the site be suspended. suspend only if the usage is too high, mostly cause by faulty script.

the upgrade option always there, hostgator backup is perform by their support team. and all you need is to make the upgrade ordering. ..
dont worry, they wont point you to death road and scare you away!

btw, you might enjoy this interview with lunarpages, I did it for resellerguide about a week ago.

http://www.resellerguide.com/article...view-quick/196

Q. How many support tickets does Lunarpages get a day?
A. Around 1000 tickets a day covering support, domain transfers, sales, affiliates, billing etc.
