AFAIK 1&1 aren't UK based - i.e. they don't have any servers located in the UK. Please correct me if I'm wrong?

I don't use UK based web host. But I know some UK based hosts, such as 1&1 Internet Ltd. UK, etc. You can find the detail information from my website.

Yes, but just because they have a UK office doesn't mean that they have UK based servers...
The DC that they list on their website for UK is the one in Germany... I know lots of prior customers of there's who have complained about poor latency and Google listings issues because they're not actually UK based.

Because server cost and bandwidth cost in UK is higher than in US.. thats the reason for the cost difference.

1&1's servers are located in Germany and they suck, just had some dealings with www.eUKhost.com and they were very helpful, can't remember what my hosting company is called because I go through a designer but they are fast. |
