Avahost is pissing me off NEED NEW HOST!

Ok for over a week my mean site has been down then up then down ect. Avahost will not tell me when they will be working out all the bugs with there new server. Anyway the last 2 days me site has been down all day and up at nite. Anyway I am paying, I thinks between $10 And 15 a month. Anyone know of a good host in that ball park? Its weird too I have other sites hosted with them and they have had np problems.

Thanks

LOL. I used Avahost before. They were always down. On a daily basis I'd get emails saying "Sorry, today was hacker attack" or "sorry, today was datacenter power outage".

What kind of hosting are you needing? Let me know the specs of what you need, and maybe I can accomodate em.

You know to be honest I really don't know much about this. I can tell you get around 15000 to 20000 visits a month. This # will be going down since I am going to stop adverts and only go with se and overture traffic. I would still like to be able to recieve around 35000 hits a month. I helps you can take a look at the site at http://www.ecasinofinder.com. That is if and when my site is back up.

I use two companies. v7, and www.modwest.com no complaints about either. My 2 cents.

You should be able to transfer all your files. If you're not into code, FishFreek (one of our tech support guys) does that kind of thing for a nominal fee.

can be moved very easily. You just backup your cpanel or your sql tables, and import them. If it takes more then 30minutes then you need to replace your computer with a type writer

I cant see your site so I cant look myself.

What forum script do you use? I have moved phpbb forums several times and its very easy to do. Depending on your DB size and other files it could be done in less than an hour of acutal labor time.

If your host has cpanel then as Emancipator wrote you can use the cpanel backup facility to create a backup of your webspace and your database and then use our cpanel to import your backup.

To take all the worry out of if we could even move your site for you. For a small additional fee of course.

HA, Have you tried importing a 200MB mysql database with cpanel's restore utility? It takes much longer than 30min. Big databases are best done command line.

Yeah i figured it was small and you had a small DB. Thats where my 30minute comment came from Point being, moving it is not tough, and you know where to come if you need help.

Stealth,

Honestly, I know of many many "hosts" that mismanage their income. They don't pay the bills, and all their clients get shut off. It happened with BinaryBlocks and I lost a website, because they guy didn't pay his bill. That's what I'm worried about. If you succeed and you treat your customers right, then all is good. Right?

I have two tech people ansering tech support questions day in and day out. How do they set up email? What is their password? How do they ftp? How do they do this that and the other thing?

Tech support costs money. Hosting is not a get-rich quick thing.

What happens if you need to reboot the server?

emg35, if you have any questions about cpanel you can also look at our cpanel tutorals. Or feel free to post your questions here.
