High-End Web hosting

I'm looking for a 'high-end' web hosting company... they need to have cPanel/PHPMyAdmin linux and of course mysql, and phone support.

Looking for $10-$20/month and a company that is there and actually cares about their customers. I don't want someone that piles as many accounts on their server as possible and kicks the customers to the side *cough* hostgator *cough*.

Anyone ever used or know of a high-end host? I want a shared hosting account with the high-end`ness that rackspace gives dedicated servers.

I dont know if it is possible to give the kind of service rackspace gives, for shared hosting. They obviously charge few hundred $ for customer support and can afford to give premium service. Not to be the case with $10-$20 hosting!

I am actually surprised to hear that you didn't like hostgator. They are one of the better rated hosts!.

May be something like asmallorange will fit your needs better. But they don't offer the kind of space and bandwidth you might expect. Checkout the rates at;

Obvously they dont oversell. If you are okay with the resources, you might be happy with them.

i have used another small host called hostingmatters few years back. Service was excellent, and they also dont offer too much space or bandwidth. That was atleast 4-5 years back, not sure if they maintain the same standard now!

HostGator has been down 4+hrs for me multiple times now. Someone is attacking their server or overloading it at another time... they tell me theyre working on it but my site stays down.

I Just need to host 1 site off my server.

ASO are probably a reasonable recommendation for a cPanel provider. I haven't heard much of them recently, but what I knew of them a few years back was ok (again, not my own personal experience though).

Since you want shared hosting with cPanel then it isn't something we can offer (unless you want a small VPS instead?) - shame, because otherwise it sounds like you were describing our ethos in your first post.

I ended up going with Server Motion. The owner is a guy I've known a long time from other web hosting forums and I remembered he started his own 'high-end' non-oversold hosting company a bit ago.

I'll be sure to post a review but the sign up process was easy

I'm glad you've found the host to meet your requirements. I was just going to add my 2 cents and suggested you taking a semi-dedicated plan where you know exactly how many clients are buddied with you on the server. It's only that their price may be slightly higher than your budget.

bluehost server is quit fast and compatible speed with hostgator.
support is good.

been using them few months. and also running reviews on them.

HostGator was good, now they are terrible for me.. laggy as all hell and down sometimes too.

There are many reliable host who cost more but have great uptime and support service.

You can check many such host with there price and package they offer on directories like webhostdir.com

I am sure I can do that but I am not getting the feeling of security when spending my cash. I always go with suggestions from friends or "friend of a friend" when choosing something to invest into. Any other points of view or recommendations ?

Yes, directories that have existed for a long time like hostsearch.com and webhostdir.com might be trusted, servermotion.com and webhostingbuzz.com might be good be choices.

If you have shortlisted few of them, it would be good if you google around to know their good and bad reviews... then proceed with shortlisting them based on their reviews... further you can then check out the support quality offered by sample questions by the finally shortlisted host list and choose one of them as per your requirements..
