Thoughts about Hostgrator
I have seen alot of adds of hostgrator and I have checked their site as well. They have alot of economical packages.I would like to have a feedback on what type of services they have and then maybe I can also go with them.Their packages are quite attractive I must say.So if anyone has used them so please do let me know your experience.

Search some other posts here we have gone over hostgator a lot.
Quick Summary: I used them before, but they went down to much, and for to long (4hrs)... go someplace else.

They have a good reputation all around. Whele they are not very different from other hosts in terms of uptime, they provide excellent support. Also they have slashed the prices, so among the cheapest now a days. A good choice, I would say.

Who is hostgrator?
Have heard about hostgator, and also have my sites hosted there.

Well, I have another recommendation for you, and that is BlueHost. It's a far much better package than Hostgator. Check it out, I have sent you a PM, hope you make a good choice for your hosting

Shall I ask you about your requirements? If your requirements are less, I think it will be better to keep away from overselling hosts. Go for a plan that offers you what you need rather than going for a huge one.

I agree with iHubNet. So, have you made up your mind, what provider have you decided?

hostgator is alright, used to host my sites with them but they have a kind of weird policy of not allowing sites with more than 50,000 inodes which is the reason I had to move but overall they are good

Yeah, you should always read the TOS carefully before you go with a host as there will be restrictions like this.
Also, I have heard that HG puts their ads on suspended pages and 404 pages.

... which is also exactly the reason why Hostgator is not a preferred hosting provider of my choice.

Hostgator has had some growing pains along the way but I know the owner Brent and he's a really dedicated guy and he continues to make Hostgator better and better. I personally have a few dedicated boxes on another network but when I bring up another one it will be with Hostgator.

Every big hosting company has lots of good and bad reviews as they have 1000 of satisfied and lots of disappointed clients for one or other reason.. what you need to concentrate on is your PERSONAL needs from a hosting company.. like there uptime, there support, customer care (very important thats were you get lots of bad reviews),there server reliability etc..
If you get "yes" as an answer for any host you choice thats the best host for you.

I have used Hostgator for a couple of years now. To be honest I have rarely had any problems with them. Whenever I did, they were resolved quite quickly. I do find it unacceptable that they have their own ads on our 404 or suspended pages.
I read on another forum that people were questioning this as they claim it is against Adsense terms & conditions. I would not know since I have never used it.
I will check out Bluehost as it is never a bad idea to spread yourself around.
