Eurodns.com, Namecheap.com are two good options to register your domains with.
I agree that going with a professional domain registrar is safer. The host I'm using a2hosting.com offer domain registration and excellent hosting service, but I'm using then for hosting only.

As rule customers prefer to register domains separately with web hosting account.
I think that web hosting company must have straight dealing with customers which trust them and buy domain and web hosting package from the one company.
