Cool Linux Control Panel

I am looking for a control panel for a dedicated Linux server that I'm going to rent. It will run any open source Linux, so I still haven't decided what that would be.
I will be able to spend about 200 dollars on the control panel. What control panel could I get in that price range??

As rule web hosting package coming with control panel. Cpanel is most popular one. I think that you can have a look on it.

Where are you renting your dedicated server from? Most server providers can sell leased licences to you which (IMO) works out better since you get lifetime upgrades, and a low "purchase" price (i.e. a small amount each month, instead of having to shell out $1000 or whatever).

My suggestion would therefore be to talk to your dedicated server provider to see what they can offer.

However, more generally, I'd suggest that you consider your needs and take a look at cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, and Webmin/Virtualmin (in no particular order). Out of these, DirectAdmin ($299) and Webmin (free) come closest to meeting your budget requirements for a one-time purchase option.

PS Webmin itself isn't really a "control panel" as such that you'd offer to end users, but Virtualmin is available in 2 versions (free + paid) and compliments webmin nicely.

Depending on your needs (e.g. if the control panel is strictly for your own use), you may be able to just use Webmin...?
