It is quite difficult to understand why so huge companies like Yahoo offers such senseless deals. I think that it is not good for their reputation.

Hmm... small business owners need none of the above. What is the point in offering unlimited everything for peanuts?

Agree, I think they should not join this "lip service" match. It makes user think yahoo hosting have been droped to second-class.

Yahoo is very big company and they might be able to cope with a medium sized business which is growing fast.

Simply put guys there is no such thing as "Unlimited" anything. There are always limits. You may not realize what these limits are until you read the fine print of the TOS, but they are there. "Unlimited" is nothing more then a marketing ploy.
The problem is that everyone keeps offering more space and bandwidth then the average customer will ever need. The prices keeping getting lower and we all applaud this as the economies of scale that large companies can offer. Maybe this is true to a point, but if put to the test can any of these companies truly offer all their clients the amount of space and bandwidth that each is promised? NO.
Your best bet is to look at how reliable your hosting provider is by looking at the services, support and uptime they provide. After all these are what really matters to most of us since our businesses depend on these factors to keep the profits there.

I agree, Because who can offer such a service?
No Host can offer Unlimited Disk Space or Bandwidth, I guess yahoo is just following suite of other hosting companies who are using this as their techniques to attract buyers

It is nothing more then simple marketing. With most shared hosts placing a 2 to 3 percent of resources limit on their customers accounts the bandwidth limit is almost mute. As for space, well we all know they are not going to let you actually store tons of files on their servers.
Problem is to many of these large companies are trying to one up each other, but as someone else said they are simply ruining their reputation as a quality provider. I long for the old days of reasonable packages and pricing.
