Advanced MySQL Features May be Blocked

i just read an article about MySQL.

would this cause some future problems on database management.

well probably not.
some opinions say that such development of commercial side of the product
will just leave behind the original copy to the hands of samaritans for
the open-source improvement

They are closing new portions which are strictly for the enterprise version. In fact I believe this was planned long before SUN was in the picture. This news is being twisted every which way it does not even remotely resemble what is actually going on.

When I asked my host about this, they tell me that it will take place absolutely unnoticed for the end-user, I mean hosting clients, as all the advanced stuff is usually done by tech support.

Yes. End users look into the quality and as rulethey do not worry about such kind issues.
