Great advice. Test the waters with their live chat and you'll get a feel for how they operate.

I think with every company, You will find ratings of 10 out of 10 and 2 out of 10. It just comes down to personal experience and preference most likely. For example, I know alot of people hate TMobile for cell phone service, but I switched from Verizon to them and I have absolutely no problem with them as my carrier and love my Blackberry

I was searching around the web and found this on a website.
FAQ: Why are the BlueHost and HostMonster packages so similar? Are BlueHost and HostMonster the same company? Not many people know this, but Host Monster and BlueHost are owned by the same parent company. So BlueHost vs. Host Monster is similar because the same company promotes each separately with slightly different features. It is realistic to assume that network infrastructure will be quite alike because they share the same facilities and staff. My experiences with hostmonster were great for the first month, but recently I have noticed that my website goes down for a couple minutes and says that website is unavailable, then give it a few minutes and it's working again. I have questioned hostmonster a few times on this and they say they don't see any problems..... Very annoying for me though and my visitors
But I still like using hostmonster, since I came from Godaddy, anything is an improvement,

Though bluehost and hostmonster are the same company. But many people think bluehost provides better server and support.
You can find more improvement if go with hostgator.

When I was searching for a new host, I did a lot of review surfing. Hostgator some of the worst reviews that I read. But out all of the host companies I read about, every one of them had negative reviews, so it's hard to say which one is the best. Much easier to say which companies are the worst. /cough godaddy, etc.

It is true. They are under the same company. They are clever to have 2 separate companies which are in the top hosting list and they are growing quite fast. If you look at their features carefully, there is slight difference.
e.g Bluehost will give you 50 mysql database but hostmonster will offer 100 databases.

They have done big job then. The companies they are own are really on the top. Maybe the companies became partnes. Seems they are being promoted in different ways. Both.

For those who suggest godady, I guess you havent seen http://nodaddy.com/ yet
I am currently using hawkhost for one of my domain. (I paid 32 dollar for one year hosting). I wont transfer all my sites there till I will get sure about their service. But so far its been very good and fast. Has anyone used them, can anyone provide a positive feedback?

Do not believe ebay web hosting sellers. They will take your money and will put you in difficult situation. It is according to my experience.

Bluehost not for me.
I am using Downtownhost and A2hosting for most of my sites. And I have had no problems with either of them.
I used Bluehost for two years which was nothing short of a disaster. Read about my nightmare with Bluehost at the Bluehost Blues.
