I am not sure if there is a thing called the "BEST" Shared Hosting.
There are heaps of Hosting sites on the internet today and all pretty much define themselves as the best on the Market.
Though it is really a personal preference, A good idea first would be to contact their sales department and ask them a few questions. Do it to all the above and see how fast their responses are and how well they respond to them.
In my Honest Opinion Bluehost was alright but HostGator was better. But that's me, And now that I run a Shared Hosting Service with a Linux OS it just makes it much easier as we are not overcluttered like the bigger companies today.

I would not prefer any of these in my honest opinion. Their seems to be more people transferring from Host Monster and Ipower over to Hostgator. But I take this from Reviews and Reports by Transferred Customers.

I don't know if you realize it but Bluehost and Hostmonster are actually the same company being marketed under the two different names.
I've been with Bluehost for a bit over a year and have been very satisfied with their capabilities, uptime, and support (the few times that I've needed it).

The funny thing Ryukenden is you would recommend any company listed in your sig as you would make a buck from them off your affiliate link. As long as you make a dollar off a sale you could care less if it is a good web hosting choice the the individual buying the service or not!?

I think Jenny was referring to both!
How I see it is the BEST Shared Host and the Best will be the one for her... But the way I see it is what is the Best Shared Host cause there is alot of specualtion about each and I personally do not think there is such a best shared host.

I think that the everyniche of shared hosting has the leaders for everyone.
For the linux web host: hostgator.com and downtownhost.com can are my favorite ones. As for the windows web hosting I would name aspnix.com as the one I like the most

I have only ever had experience with Linux Based Servers and they are really good. Might one day learn Windows but for now Linux is the GO!
Have ever only been with HostGator which was decent to say, Downtownhost has been referred to many people, Maybe give them a go ..

Hi jennypretty!
Could you tell me if you have made your choice concerning the best shared hosting?
Personally, I like Hostgator and Bluehost. If I were you I will not be in a hurry to choose shared hosting company, as there are many good companies which can provide you with hosting. And if you don`t mind I would like to suggest you to look through Site5.com and Hqhost.net, as they seem reputable and reliable ones. Also they have attractive plans and sweet prices respectively.
Regards.

None of them. Large companies are not as good as it may seem.
I could also say the Best - is relative, as you can see. It depends on what are you expecting from the company.
I think one of the best hosting providers is Ahosting.biz - they are very reliable and not expensive at all. They have many to propose. I suppose you also might be interested..
Good luck!
