PHP5 hosts?

Hey!
What are PHP5 web hosts you know? I need the fastest if that is possible. Google recommended to use Simplihelix.com and they promise they are the fastest. But I think that need to be compared, so in this case I would like to ask you for some help... Can you please suggest me the ways of comparing and hosts for comparison as well? I believe simplehelix not only one in this niche...

PHP5 hosting is not a niche... any respectible (and lots of not so respectible) host(s) should be offering PHP5 - not least because PHP4 was EOL'd at the start of the year, and the PHP Group officially stopped providing security updates for it in August (http://developers.slashdot.org/devel.../2349228.shtml).

EDIT: You may also find this interesting - http://www.nexen.net/chiffres_cles/p..._july_2008.php

I'd also like to clarify that, contrary to your post, Google has not "recommended" any particular hosting provider - but I suppose what you mean is that they turned up in a search result for "fastest possible PHP5 hosting" or something like that?

Unfortunately, although there are many ways that you could potentially compare different hosting providers to attempt to learn which might be "the fastest" it will be a pretty pointless and fruitless exercise - each test would give you a different answer

Instead, I think we need more details about exactly what you're looking for, what you hope to use the hosting for (i.e. what's the details of the site/s and where will the visitors be?) and finally - what's your budget?

The fastest host is undoubtedly you if you buy a big fat dedicated server and colocate it in a nice well connected place... but I'm guessing that's a long way past your budget for this project?

Locomotive if you google for PHP5 hosts you will get lots of companies and you will need to chose one and micksss absolutely right here you need to understand how much you need, because PHP5 support is not something unique for modern web hosting companies.

99% of hosts switched to php 5 already. So set aside that criteria and look for other things while selecting a host like your budget, reliability of host support, your number of web sites, whether you need ecommerce etc.

You can check out Marblehost.com.
There are two versions available PHP 4&5. Their web hosting service gives you opportunity to use multiple options. You will be able to use web hosting control panel with the help of which you can specify which version of PHP you want to use. Prices are not very high and your site will never have down time.

Once again I recommend MediaTemple.net. You have the option to switch between version 4 and 5 per site. The only downside is that there is no mySQL 5 support yet on the GRID shared service.

Simplehelix.com is well-known as the company that support Magento service on their servers. This e-commerce software works fast on them as their servers are optimized for that.
That's what I know about them.
