Spiders/bots vs. unique visitors

Do spiders and bots count as unique visitors in stats' programs? I'm using Awstats and trying to analyze traffic. I wasn't sure if they count as "human traffic".

depends on the program - surfstats - no, webtrends - you have to set up the filter.

awstats separates bots from people.
There will be a listing titled: Robots/Spiders visitors (Top 25)

Monthly history, Days of month, Days of week and Hours are for humans.

Google Analytics is good for this - because of the way the stats are gathered via Javascript, most bots just don't see the Javascript and won't be logged at all.
