Graphics not optimized?
Hey guys, I was wondering you guys can load www.juggaloforums.com alright, cuz the graphics are taking forever for me to load... I'm wondering if its cuz my comp is screwed up, or if its because it actually is slow. Thanx for the responses.

What internet connection are you using?
Dial-up or Broadband?
It took 17 seconds for me for it to- - Open a new window (default link opening in v7n)
- load the contents
This was @ 10mbps local area network connection
Hope I help!

I figured out its just cuz I'm horrible and loading what like 30 images? pssh... and yeah.. I'm on broadband ^_^ my comp was just being stupid since then I've reformated and it loads alot better.
Anyway. Right now I'm EXTREMELY psyched! I've had this check list for a while: - Move GoogleAds below post icon legend, above the JFIC title with the side bars stretching to height.
- Move guest / user box, and news box to below stats / time bar.
- Change news box to stretch vertically to the same size as the guest / user box.
- Develop matching banner for above the stats / time bar.
And I've finally figured out how to fix the google ads and I think it helps alot. Unfortunately I still have to figure out how to move the two boxes, adjust the heights and make a banner... of course the last one being by far the hardest for me I'm sure ^_^
Btw thanx for the help, hopefully I'll figure out how to improve the load in the future... It's important because most of the people who will be visiting will probably NOT have broadband and they wont want to wait 30 seconds for each page.

Hi
The page itself should load at 18 seconds 56K,
but it choked for 3 or 4 seconds before the transfer started.
The problem is the server has a bottleneck starting at 70.85.127.29 (NETBLK-THEPLANET-BLK-13) then 67.19.33.228 is running real slow (same network).
I didn't analyse the the host machine and network, but I would bet it is a slow server hosting a bunch of cheap or free sites.

Actually the machine its on is paid hosting only, and has a few customers. I have a reseller account that's hosting 3 domains right now, although only one of them, the one you saw, is live. The other two are under development ^_^
Altho I do appreciate the analysis. I'll be sure and forward them to my host to see if they can figure out why its getting choked.

I didnt take it as an insult, the company does do some free hosting (its amazing how hard it is for people to get accepted tho). My point was the box I'm on isn't one of the ones with free hosting. Anyway if its running fine now maybe they already fixed the problem, I posted in their forums shortly after posting here.

Just ran a check again, it looks good.
a lot of the open source providers run shared bandwidth (all servers connected to a limited amount of bandwidth), during peak hours or if you have a spammer sending out thousands of email it can kill the bandwidth for the sites on all the servers.

the host is www.illusionfxnet.com my friend recommended them and has been pretty good so far although I thought they sucked for a bit and found out its my comp that sucks >.<
But yeah it seems to be working out well. Haven't yet figured out just quite how to get the word out to the right community, but somehow I keep getting about 5-10 click throughs a day... on 40-60 page impressions... can't complain but I wanna know who is making me money and figure out how to make some more by getting more people to visit!

Got some bad news for you TekBuzz,
I just ran another check man they seem to be using a lot of bandwidth during certain hours.
Be carefull with cheap providers, they may be running a bulk mail business on the side and you may end up on being hosted on an IP that has been banded. Not that I'm against people making a living, but most isps have no idea how to set up a good spam system and protect their clients.
Before the great crackdown, our company was in the spam business (back then it was called email marketing), as the crack down progressed we had to learn to protect the clients, until finally we just got out and tell them to go somewhere else if they want to spam ("but it's a newsletter, what's wrong with Constant Contact?")....lol. Not that we're angels, we do have 6 servers set up here in the US for a company from the UK who swear they're completely legit.
If you get your traffic up and start making money, go to a provider that has a good policy that keeps the bozos off.
