Autoloading Music on Website Homepage?

Not sure if this is the good place to post this thread.
Anyways, i want to research impact of auto starting/loading music, when you open "some" page. My friend has some browser game, and he has music on his home page, i told him "People hate auto sound/music on homepage", if you remove it , you would get more people to register and lower bounce!

I want to hear what other people think about this matter?

I've been telling him to remove music since 1 year ago or something. So what do you think, how much will the trafic rise, if he remove it ? I mean traffic will be the same, but more like "register per page hit ratio" will rise. At least 33% people rage quit when they hear music, thats my estimation

^^^Thats me, I hate having music blasted at me. Its fine if you want to play music on your webpage, just have the viewer press play, don't force it on people who don't want to hear it.

Nobody can predict the musical tastes of everyone, so for every one guy that's pleased, multiple others won't like the selection.

Forcing it on them anyway is the auditory equivalent of rape.

I think the death of Myspace is enough to prove people don't like being forced to have to deal with your personality. Lord knows I quit using Myspace because I didn't like having to listen to the crappy music and awful skins people put on their pages.

Tell your friend no one will respect him if he keeps the music on the page. Threaten to break up your friendship, as you refuse to be friends with someone so stupid and annoying.

I don't care if the website has the coolest design and features, if i hear music right away, i just leave the website. I'm there to view the website and not hear music that isn't even any good. Like Rob said, everyone has there own taste in music.

Also some people don't have computers/laptop at home and use the work computer to surf the internet. If they land on a website that has music blasting, that person could get caught surfing the internet while at work. I know they should not being doing this but leaving the music out could improve the traffic stat's. Not a good way to get loyal visitors if they hear the same old song blasting all the time.

It is really not impressive to have musics played by default on websites. Most often, they are used by religious sites, personal blogs etc.

If it is an earning site, placing audio is too bad idea.

Oh, i totaly forgot that myspace had auto-loading music. I remember it was realy annoying. You had option to make it auto-load or let other users click play. I belive that is just one of the reasons "Why MySpace failed".

You know whats even more annoying with my friends browser game?. If you open his homepage, you hear annoying music.Ok, you turn it off, then you click register, and music starts AGAIN, so that is double rage?
People get frustrated because of that, dont they?
And, even those that were:" music is annoying, but i want to try game(turns music "off" on homepage, he clicks register (music starts again), ok i cant stand this music (i'm out of here)".
