Site Layout Size

Hi,

I have had a few complaints lately that my layout size is too big for my users's resolutions. I'm using a 1280x1024 resolution myself and I think that my site layout looks perfect with it. I'm not really sure what resolution sizes other people are using tho.

The site in question is http://www.movie-wallpapers.net/ ..

If you have a lower resolution than 1280x1024 then please tell me what you think of the site layout.

Any suggestions what I should do? Or should I just not do anything?

if u want to please everyone, including the survivors of 800*600 resolution, u should make it no wider than, lets say 770px..
that is, however, ridiculous for today's standard... so maybe just narrow it down a lil`, so that it wont have horizontal scrollbar at 1026*768, because then if the browser is not running full screen, all the google ads on the right side are getting visually cut...

just my opinion

Thanks for your input. I think I'm gonna try removing the right navigation bar and see how it looks!

You could also investigate layouts produced with the CSS float property.

Hi Cricket,

first site looks useful, but personally I have bookmarks that set my window to specific sizes.

Second is one of my fav sites but anyone reading this should remember this quote from the same page you linked:

These facts indicate that the browser figures below are not 100% realistic. Other web sites have statistics showing that Internet Explorer is used by at least 80% of the users.

Anyway, our data, collected over a five year period, clearly shows the long and medium-term trends.
