WordPress & vBulletin
A website I manage has a Wordpress as a main page where we once in a while put some articles.
What I want to have way to put somewhat direct link to a thread on the forum running vBulletin. What I mean is that for a given article, a thread is created and that thread is used for discussing the content of the article.
Of course this can be relatively easily in a manual way but I was wondering if there was a more automated way of doing this.

There's a vBulletin bridge to wordpress available - for using the same user database. However, there's no plugin for a connection between articles and forum threads so far but it's actually no big deal.

I also have a use for this type of mod. Did you try it out Louis and, if so, what's your impression of it? Thanks.

There's not enough time in a lifetime to try all options. It makes sense to ask people their impressions - otherwise, what's the point of a forum?

If you're not set on using Vbulletin, there's a plugin that works great with Wordpress and phpBB. Posting a blog post on Wordpress will create a new topic in phpBB. Of course vBulletin rocks... so it's something you'd have to give up.

This is interesting. Wish there was a similar one for SMF!

I'm reading out Wordpress's RSS feed to display the latest posts on vBulletin, but the bridge should be working fine for using the same members table.

You can post articles and show them on the index with some simple mods...and using the vb-wp bridge...else, you can just post them on the vb and show the links on wp.

This is a cool idea! I'm going to post it on eLance and see how much to get it implemented on my site.

If you don't need to use vBulletin, you could also use bbPress.
