How to make my site mobile friendly?

I have a E-commerce site. I want to increase my site traffic first. As the numbers of mobile users are increasing day by day, I want to make my site mobile friendly. I hope that the sale is increased then through my site. But I have no clear idea to make my site mobile friendly. So, please help me by providing some useful tips.

Lets start with what you are using to run the site. Is it a static HTML site? Uses an ecommerce software? Uses Wordpress with an ecommerce plugin?

Without going into what kind of site you are using as a framework it is tough to say. I've given up on the mobile-friendly deal since I get very minute bits of traffic from mobile devices.

I am guessing you are a using some kind of CMS (content management system ) right ? Most of them have plugins to make the website mobile friendly.

To get a good app you need to spent some money and it needs to be on Apple and Android market also !

What kind of E-commerce are you using? Do you have a designer who built a specific theme?

If the website isn't already designed with this in mind, setting viewport and scale could just make things worse.

Use modern css, with media queries!
You can also try ready css frameworks for this job, like bootstrap!
