How many people have quicktime these days?

What do you think the figures would be now since iTunes requires the latest quicktime to be installed. Reason being because I have to decide what format to use on the site when playing videos.

i hate quicktime myself. Most people have flash plug-ins, you could do it that way if you have a flash program. What are the videos and how long/big are they?

what do you mean Isla, this will be using the quicktime player plugin on the browser so I don't think speed of opening? would be an issue.

The main problem was the percentage of web users with it installed.

i know what you are talking about... there are speed differences between the formats.. I believe realplayer has a better speed geared format..

I think realplayer has less market share than quicktime but not sure, maybe someone has the figures

For quicktime I would be using h.264, what do you mean by speed geared formats

yeah I've seen that but I don't see how iTunes has more than qt if they are required for eachother

I hate it - annoys me because it takes over everywhere -
