What should I do with affiliate links?

Let's say I have 2 or more affiliates and I want to link to them using the banners they provide. Where should I put them on my site and what should I classify them as? Should I say they're "My affiliates" or "My favorite sites" or something?

Most people say something along the lines of "[insert site name] recommends..."
I wouldn't call them "my affiliates" because that's a bit direct.

You're doing it backwards.

No one wants to visit ANY site or page that's going to be nothing but ads.

If you want to convince people to actually click through, there are two methods that are not intrusive.

1) Get a banner-rotation script. There are several in the resource section of V7N, so if you can't find one, give up, unplug your computer, and never touch anything electronic again.

2) In text links. From your question, I'm just going to assume you're running some sort of article based site like a blog. Well, if you have offers that match your keywords, link those words to your offer...
Example:
Quote:
Japan's so crazy! Everything there is in English, but not... It'd be in Engrish!
... People are naturally curious, and will follow the link. They arrive, cookie gets dropped. If they buy anything before the cookie expires, you get money.

You make a good point but if I want someone to buy a product, how would I choose which affiliate to suggest? Let's say I have a page with the latest DVD releases and I want to direct them to the best site to buy from. I'd feel weird choosing the one I want because it might not be one that my users would choose.

Cool

Ads at the top of a page and ads on the left side seem to do best.
