Does Google Adsense slow down your site?
I'm thinking of monetizing my site soon and probably will start with adsense. Is the adsense code a large file? Will it slow down my site's loading time?

It may have a very small impact, but it's certainly not noticeable.

It shouldn't create any slowdowns that could be detected.

Adsense is loaded via JavaScript so I doubt it would have any real impact on you're page loading time. Even if you have the code nested in html tables, the JacaScript won't hinder the loading of the html around it.

I've noticed a slow down with adsense and analytics on some sites/pages. It's not the owner's problem but a Google issue.
I've debated removing analytics for this reasonn, adsense not so much an issue.

Dont know about adsense, but for Analytics always include it at the bottom of the page - just before </body> to make sure it is not slowed down.

I never had a problem with my page downloading because of adsense. Checkout your photos, videos or design of your website, its possible that one of them is the reason why and not on your adsense.

I noticed my site loads slower now but I'm not sure if this is because of adsense.
I don't have too much pictures and videos too.

No it will not have any effects on your web pages loading because if you take a look at the web ads displayed on the sites, offered by several advertising and marketing companies you will notice that the Google ads are among the fastest loading ad units introduced on the web, because the files and scripts would be loaded from powerful Google data centers and servers and also since in most cases the ads come in the text form, the sizes of the codes would be like a couple of kilobytes which is nothing to notice even.

Not too bad, you can always improve things by reducing the number of banners/widgets etc on your page and if you are a blogger then you could restrict the number of articles per page to one.

Adsense does not affect my site's loading time. Since it is just a chunk of code, it wont affect that much.

Adsense adds on very little of loading time to the total loading time of a site. You do not have to much worry about the site loading time. Just make sure that your site do not have a extremely high loading time.
Matt Cutts recently said that loading time do not impact on a site's ranking unless a site gives a timeout error because of loading time.
