Can we earn good money via affiliate programs

I am absolutely new to this world of affiliate links and websites.

I have kept a target of earning 22000 USD in next one year.

I haven been reading stuff about it online but I am more confused now. Can someone become my mentor and guide me thoroughly and help me earn that kind of money.

It's not going to be as easy as it seems, that's for sure. I know affiliate marketers who have been in the game for years, and are only making a small income, but they know what they're doing wrong, and making more each day. It's all about trial and error!

Do you already have a site with good content? If not, work on that first. Income comes second.

actually, I have not focused on affiliate marketing much, but earned a cpl of hundreds.
If you want to earn that sum of money you are talking about, you will have first to find something that you know about, start building your target audience, mailing lists, bonuses and testimonials, make a landing page, and start driving traffic.

I dont think you will find someone to tutor you step by step

You may earn that much money via affiliate business but for that, you will have to get targeted customers/ targeted visitors. You will need a website where you can promote the affiliate program and that site will need to have lot of targeted traffic.

You can make some good money via doing freelance work. I suggest you do both, affiliate business plus do work at freelance sites too.

There are a lot of affiliate programs out there. Some are good and some are not that good. To make money on affiliate program, you may need to do some research on which niche market is the hottest at that period of time. Than you may join any of the affiliate program that suit your goal.

Sure you can make it, once your site is established and receive good traffics. You can sign for an adsense account as well. It's easier to earn with adsense.

To gain 22000 USD/year target your must forget about free time and weekends.
Don't concentrate on the digits of your target. Concentrate on the quality of your job only.

The best path I believe is in a niche.

You better pick something you enjoy or it will be a boring job rather than a quest to 'outsmart the world and make money at something you enjoy'.

I think affiliate programs won't run well without promote way by PPC like Adwords. Only Adwords or may be YSM can reach your targeted traffic. Because of yes affiliate programs need targeted traffic.

I suppose affiliate marketers are really earning good when they combine their programs. Most of my clients are affiliate marketers and have numerous sites that they promote.

Most people fail in affiliate marketing because they do the "old school" thing, like getting the affiliate links and then just start promoting those links. It's not that way. Super affiliates became super affiliates because they built a huge mailing list. I remember that I heard or seen somewhere that "you have to focus 98% of your time building your mailing list". Well, that is truly correct, just imagine you have 10,000 people in your mailing list, you found a good affiliate program let's say offering 50% commission on a $67 product, you sent an email to your list, usually a responsive mailing lists has a click-through- rate of 30%, and that is very conservative. Now, 30% of 10k is 3k,meaning 3,000 people clicks the link and visited the website that you recommended, let's say your conversion is just 3%, again very conservative, 3% of 3,000 is 90. Meaning, 90 people bought the product you offered out of 10,000 people. How much you earn as an affiliate? 50% of a $67 product is $33.50. you earned $33.50 x 90 = $3,015!!!

Can you imagine, what if you have 20k, 30k, or 50k people in your mailing list? of course it's not easy to build those list, right now I have 210 people in my mailing list, and I continue to have 3-5 subscribers added to my list every day. All you have to learn is how to drive traffic to your squeeze page, and of course make sure you offer and provide quality free information so that people who visits your page will leave their name and email addresses.

My experience is its hard to earn a lot with in a short period time. First you must work on your site. Try get traffic as much as possible. The best strategy is to build as much as back links.
